Teaching at the Dougherty Arts Center for 20 years gave me the opportunity to meet and get to know many people who became my students and colleagues. It was a pleasure and joy to pass on my knowledge of drawing and painting and appreciation for art. It has been especialy satisfying to see so many make progress and learn to love painting as I do. All things must eventually come to an end and except for an occasional workshop I will not be teaching at DAC.

In the summer of 2009 I decided to concentrate on teaching at my studio and will be offering classes in Fall 2009.

WATERCOLOR AND MIXED WATERMEDIA PAINTING

Mar 17 - Apr 21 Weds. 1.30-4.00pm $160.

All levels. Use of paint, brushes, color theory and composition. A structured class with painting demonstrations and follow up assignments. Advanced students work on paintings of their choice. Class limit of 10 students allows time for individual instruction

3 - DAY WORKSHOP - ALL MEDIA

INTENSE FOCUS ON COMPOSITION

No special effects in this class. Plan to work hard and learn how to improve your paintings with strong and dynamic compositions.

For intermediate and advanced students.

NEW CLASS

Going Green with Water Media Painting Workshop

Beryl Kerwick

This one day workshop will satisfy your urge to recycle and create at the same time. From your old or unsuccessful water media paintings you will learn how to create new artwork of various sizes and shapes. Materials used will be various water based paints, watercolor, acrylics, inks, metallics, glue, varnish and of course your ready to be recycled paintings. Plan to spend several hours learning to use good design, color and shape to make some wonderful new creations.

$45 / 1 class

Limit 10 students.
